Paul is a Senior Vice President and Senior CRE Lender of Sterling Bank & Trust, having joined in September of 2021 to oversee the East Coast and Midwest commercial lending markets. Paul has more than 45 years of experience in commercial banking. He joined Marine Midland Bank 1979 as an International Banking Officer, specializing in Bank and Government Lending in Latin America. In 1985, he was appointed New York Manager of the Merchant Banking Division and assumed responsibility for loan syndications, assets swaps, and loan asset trading, both domestically and internationally. In 1986 with the formation of the Investment Banking Division, he was given the responsibility for underwriting and distribution of long-term corporate and real estate debt, and bank eligible securities. In 1988 he was appointed President of Marine Midland Securities. In 1995 Paul joined Value Property Trust, a mortgage REIT owned by Mutual Series Funds as Senior Vice President and East Coast Manager. After the sale of the REIT in 1998 he joined Atlantic Bank of New York as Senior Vice President and Team Leader. After the acquisition of Atlantic Bank by New York Community Bank, Paul has held various Senior Lending and Management positions at various regional and community banking institutions in the Northeast.
